MORE UNREST OVER CONTROVERSIAL BOOK

Police are urging activists for calm after more protests took place against the book “Awami League – Hindu Oppressor or Protector?” published in September 2019 by Chompa Prokashoni, Dhaka. Awami League and religious activists are angry at the Hindu author, advocate Shibu Prosad Sushil. Protesters are claiming that the writer is using his book to spread propaganda against the Awami League and Muslim religious authorities to create unrest in the country. Police have confirmed that the publisher is helping the police with their investigation. They also confirmed that advocate Shibu Prosad Sushil is not in Bangladesh, but he will be arrested for serious criminal offences committed when he returns to Bangladesh.
