The district administration has determined the parish from the famous and delicious mango orchard in Rajshahi. This year, like every year, this ‘Mango Calendar’ has been announced to ensure safe, poisonous and mature mangoes in the market. According to the decision, this mango season is starting from May 15.
On Sunday (May 10), a meeting with agriculturists, fruit researchers, farmers and businessmen was held in the meeting room of the district administration.
According to the decision of the administration, all types of small mangoes can be taken down from the trees from May 15 at the beginning of the season. After exactly one week, Juicy Gopalbhog will be available in the market from May 22. After three days of that i.e. from May 25, farmers can collect Laxmanbhog (Lakhana) and Ranichachanda varieties of mangoes.
The popular Himsagar (Khirshapat) mango will have to wait till May 30. The fragrant Lanza and Banana Mango will be available from June 10.
at the end of the season That is, Bari mango-4 can be brought down from the tree from July 5. After some time, the Ashwina variety of mangoes can be collected from July 10. And finally, Goumati will be released as Nabi variety from July 15.
Deputy Commissioner Kazi Shahidul Islam said that mangoes cannot be taken down from the tree in any way before the scheduled date.
He said, ‘We are in a strict position to prevent unripe and unsafe mangoes in the market. if Ignoring the administrative decision, if someone tries to turn mango or artificially ripens first, then legal action will be taken against him.’
The concerned upazila administration has already given instructions to supervise the markets of Rajshahi.
However, garden owners and businessmen say that even if mangoes are being brought down from May 15 according to the calendar, they will have to wait at least 20 days to get a better quality or a good quality delicious mango in the market. They are of the opinion that the price of mangoes in the trees is relatively low, the price of mangoes may be slightly higher than last time.
According to the information of the Rajshahi Agricultural Extension Department, this year the district has planted 19,188 hectares of mango orchards. If the weather is favorable, the agriculture department is expecting to produce 2 lakh 45 thousand metric tons of mangoes from the district.
