Iftar mahfil of Bhola media workers organization of Bhola working in Dhaka was held at the iftar mahfil of ‘Dhakastha Bhola Journalist Forum (DBSF’) at the national press club's Maulana Akram Khan Hall.
Under the chairmanship of Channel i's Assistant Output Editor Ahsan Kamrul, DBSF Vice President Sagar Chowdhury's pre-iftar discussion will be held. In which the speakers urged to highlight the news of Bhola, problems and possibilities of Bhola journalists including DBSF.
A.N.M. Riztaz Uddin, vice-president of the Government College Teachers’ Association (Sakshis), said, "During the previous government, my student Gitaur Rahman has been harassed in various ways. Even if many journalists are killed and prosecuted, we will hope that even in the midst of this long-standing farce and deprivation, the journalists are keeping their profession in the future and the current job of journalists."
He also said that journalists who have done non-politics in the name of non-journalism, have made the journalist profession sullen and we wish to forgive those who have died. I wish that today, those who have been in the path of truth and justice, will be steadfast in the path of truth and justice and will present the materialistic news of the poison of society and atrocities. Be vocal against it, so that a beautiful society can be built in the future.
DRU Organizing Secretary Abdul Hai Tuhin said, Bhola is a naturally very promising district. Many people in this district have made an important contribution to the media of the country. I hope that the journalists of Bhola will contribute more to the media.
ABM Ibrahim Khalil, Assistant Attorney General of the Supreme Court, said that journalists could not write the truth before August 5. But now there is no dictatorship in the country. But now the farmers in different areas of Bhola have to pay a fee. Watermelon farmers have to pay a fee. I invite the journalists working in Dhaka to highlight these news of unfairness, corruption and extortion.
Bangladesh National Party (BJP) Organizing Secretary Elitas Matabbar said, "In the past 15 years, many in the media have worked as a friend of fascism. It is through those friends that Sheikh Hasina has become a fascist. Now again, the equality of good journalism has come to the fore and journalists must now be brought up."
Moshiur Rahman Rubel, news editor of Daily Bhorer Pata, said that Bhola district is full of gas. But the people of Bhola are not able to do industrial and homes in industries and houses. From there, the other districts will go to the nation grid. Even though there is no progress in Bhola-Barisal bridge, there is no progress. This is a clear discrimination. That's why you will write.
anti-discriminatory Student Movement Sohraradidi College Branch Member Secretary Md. Shamsuddin said, "The country has been under fascism for the last 15 years. We have made the country independent again in the life of the students and people, but if we still do, we will still be free. For this reason, journalists should be called white and black, otherwise we will not have any difference with the past fascism, we think the country will be on the right path if the journalists are on the right path.
In the closing speech, DBSF president Ahsan Kamrul said, "We started the journey of this organization in 2022 with the initiative of the current general secretary Gitaur Rahman to unite and professionalize the journalists of Bhola journalists.
