Foreign Advisor Touhid Hossain told news agency ANI that India is being contacted diplomatically for a meeting between the two leaders on the sidelines of the BIMSTEC conference.
The main objective of this conference is to strengthen regional cooperation—especially in the field of economic development, trade, and social enterprise. This meeting of the Indian Prime Minister with Yunus, who is known worldwide in social business and poverty alleviation, could create an opportunity for important discussions on regional and global development.
The conference is being considered an important platform for deepening relations between BIMSTEC member countries, which is seen as a positive step in regional diplomacy.
Meanwhile, on March 28, the Chief Advisor Dr. Muhammad Yunus, in the meantime, is known to have been trying to organize a meeting of the Chief Advisor with the Indian Prime Minister.
The South China Morning Post said China is preparing to give a warm welcome to the chief adviser, according to the media report, that Dr. wants to increase diplomatic recognition and economic relations from China amid diplomatic tensions with India. The government led by Muhammad Yunus, after the interim government came to power in China. This is Yunus' first visit.
