Tiktok plans to close their app in the United States from Sunday (January 19). People concerned said that a federal ban on the social media app may come into effect from Sunday, if No, the Supreme Court decided to stop it.
The ban will be prohibited for new users to download the app, however, users who are already using it can continue for a while.
According to TikTok plans, users will see a pop-up message, which will point them to a website with restrictions, as well as users will be given the opportunity to download their personal data.
A source said that long plans are not needed to implement this process. Most of the activities in TikTok are going on normally and the service will be reopened soon if the ban is lifted.
TikTok and its Chinese parent company Bitdance did not comment on the matter.
