Bakshiganj Representative:
In Bakshiganj of Jamalpur, a 11-year-old child named Sathi Akter was killed by drowning in Brahmaputra river. The incident took place on Saturday morning in Bhati Kalkihara area of Meruchar Union of the upazila. The tragic death of the child has left the family and locals in mourning.
The deceased Sathi Akhtar is a resident of the area, Zakirul Islam.
According to the local sources, on Saturday morning, Sathi was in the nearby Brahmaputra river with his uncle Jumuri Begum to wash the cup and the child was suddenly in the water.
Later, the locals quickly went down the river and started searching for a companion to be rescued from under the water, but by then he had died.
In this case, Bakshiganj Police Station Officer-in-Charge (OC) Maqbul Hossain said that the child's body has been completed by the relatives after completing the legal activities.
