Rajshahi Reporter: The court has sent a case of extortion to Rajshahi's popular woman Akhter Liza (38) in jail on Thursday afternoon and ordered to send her to jail on Thursday afternoon.
Court Peshkar Abdur Razzak confirmed the information, adding that Akhter Liza surrendered to the court and prayed for bail through a lawyer, but the court judge denied the bail application and ordered the accused to be sent to jail.
Liza is a resident of Terokhadi in Rajshahi city, former wife of former MP Engineer Enamul Haque of Rajshahi-4 (Bagmara) constituency. This woman is widely discussed in Rajshahi due to love with MP, divorce and ‘interest business’.
Liza has been sent to jail in the case of a man named Prabhas Chandra Sarkar. Prabhas has filed this extortion case against Liza, the Rajshahi Divisional Super Dealer of ATN Import.
According to the statement of the case, Prabhas Chandra Sarkar took Tk 1 lakh from Liza in September last year.
Later on 7th January he returned the money but Liza did not return the stamp he had signed, and said that he would return the stamp later.
When he asked for a stamp from the next Samt Liza, he demanded one lakh rupees, he said that he would not give the stamp if he did not pay the money, and said that he will not return the stamp on February 17.
He also threatened to file a case against Prabhas, which Prabhas Chandra Sarkar filed a case against Liza as the only accused in the Thana.
