Lakshmipur ;;During the breeding season, 8 jailers have been fined in the Meghna river in Ramgatti of Lakshmipur in violation of the ban on catching hilsa.
On Monday (October 14) night, Ramgati Upazila Nirbahi Officer (UNO) and Executive Magistrate of the mobile court. Abdul Momin fined 8 jails.
5 of them were sentenced to one month's imprisonment and 3 people were fined 5 thousand taka, but it was not possible to know their name immediately.
Ramgati Upazila Assistant Fisheries Officer Md. Kamal Hossain said, Ramgati Upazila Executive Officer (UNO) Md. Abdul Momin Fisheries Department and Naval Police conducted the operation in the Meghna River Tanki Ghat area, 6 fishing boats, 5000 meters of net, 60 kg of eggs were seized.
Seized hilsa orphanages are distributed, boats will be kept in police custody.
