A child of the year named Alifa has died after drowning in the rain water accumulated in the hole near the house of Kamalnagar upazila in the district.
The accident took place at Charmartin Unity of the upazila around 10 am on Tuesday (May 28).
Alifa is the only mete of the martyr of that area.
Family members said that Alifa was playing in Bair's yard. After a while, everyone started looking for him, but after he was found floating in a hole in the harness and rainwater behind the basin, he was rescued from there and the Kamalnagar Upazila Health Complex was declared dead by the doctor on duty.
Chairman Yusuf Ali of Charmartin Unity Council confirmed the poison.
