‘The leaders of Jatiyatavadi Teachers Forum, an organization of BNP's pro-BNP teachers, distributed leaflets in the new administrative building of Jahangirnagar University in support of the boycott of ’dummy elections' and non-cooperation movement.
They did this campaign by distributing leaflets in the new administrative building of the university at 11:30 on Tuesday (January 2).
After distribution of leaflets, Professor Mohammad Kamrul Ahsan of Philosophy said, “Not having an opposition party in a place like the National Assembly does not go with our constitution. We call on the general public to boycott this election. This boycott will open the way for an acceptable election with all irrespective of the party in the coming days and it will establish a people's government.”
UTAB's organizing secretary and professor of geography and environment, Md Nurul Islam, said that the current government has organized a dummy election that has lost global acceptance, ignoring the public opinion. The distribution of this leaflet today is part of the effective role of Bangladesh Nationalist Party to bring democracy back to the democratic institutions of Bangladesh, we want to say that if this election is held, the democratic trend will end forever in this country, so everyone must refrain from going to the polling station to establish democracy and restore the rights of the people of this country.
Professor Mohammad Mafruhi Sattar, who has been refusing to vote for the next January 7 election as a one-party election, said the election commission would have a good idea, but they did not do so, but they did not do so.
