Narsingdi Deputy Commissioner Israt Jahan Keta was held under the chairmanship of the 31st general meeting of Rasingdi Dabatik Samiti.
Sardar Sakhawat Hossain Bakul (MP) Health Minister of the People's Republic of Bangladesh and Member of Parliament for Narsingdi-4 Constituency was present as the chief guest in the event.
Member of Parliament Engineer Ashraf Uddin Bakul (MP) of Narsingdi-5 Constituency and Joint Secretary General of BNP Central Committee, District BNP President and Member of Parliament of Narsingdi-1 Khairul Kabir Khokon (MP) were present as special guests.
Narsingdi civil surgeon Dr. was also present. Leaders of various political, social and professional organizations including Bulbul Kabir.
In the speech of the chief guest, Health Minister Sardar Sakhawat Hossain Bakul said that the activities of the Medical College in Narsingdi will be started within this year and the education program will be started with 50 students and he hopes that there is a possibility of establishing a public university in Narsingdi in the future.
The minister also said that 10-bed decalysis units will be set up in every upazila hospital of the district, so that kidney patients can receive medical services in their respective upazilas.
He announced a grant of Tk 50 lakh for the development of Narsingdi Dabentik Hospital.
Besides, if the activities of the hospital are conducted satisfactorily, he assured the government's cooperation in the future of a grant of one crore rupees and the construction of a permanent building.
At one point in the speech, he emphasized on the integrity and ideological duty of the government officials and said that the district administration should be honest and people friendly. If there is evidence of corruption anywhere, he will not only be transferred, he also warned that measures will be taken to cancel the job of the concerned officer.
In the event, the speakers emphasized on increasing public awareness, expanding modern medical services and working together in healthcare in Narsingdi to prevent dabitis.
