The Coast Guard has seized 20,000 meter current nets and 6 boats in Lakshmipur's Ratpur. Later, the upazila fisheries department sold 1 lakh 72 thousand taka in the seized nets and 6 boat auctions.
According to the Coast Guard sources, they conducted a raid in Meghna river on Thursday and seized 20,000 meters of current net. Earlier, the upazila fisheries department and upazila administration conducted mobile coats and seized 6 boats in separate operations with a banned net. Those boats were held in the Jalita Char area of Ragpur on Thursday afternoon.
Ratpur Sinist Upazila Fisheries Officer Belat Hossain said that the 6 boats seized in separate raids were sold in separate raids and the 6 boats seized in separate raids were sold in a separate operation.
Ratpur Upazila Nirbahi Officer Shilpi Rani Rani confirmed the poison of the operation and said that 20,000 banned current nets and 6 boats were seized in separate raids. 6 boats were sold at Tk 1 lakh 72 thousand in public auction and fired at current nets.
