Laxmipur: The by-election of Dighli Uniton Parishad of Laxmipur Sadar Upazila and Char Abdulya and Bakheri Union Parishad elections will be held on July 27. The election has been allocated for the boat symbol among the nominated candidates of Awami League.

Former Jubo League leader Salauddin Chowdhury Jabed was named boat symbol in the by-election for the post of Dighli Uniton Parishad Chairman of Sadar Upazila. Hasan Maksud and Char Abdulya Uniitne Md. Kamal Uddin has given the boat symbol.
According to election office sources, the last date for filing nomination papers for the candidates and members in the UP elections will be June 28 and the selection will be on June 30. The last day for withdrawal of candidature will be on July 7 and the allotment of symbols among the candidates will be held on July 8. Voting will be held through Electronic Voting Machine (EVM) on July 27 from 8 am to 4 pm.
