Later, Annotarul Abedin Khan appealed to the EC against this decision. After the hearing, the commission declared the decision of the returning officer invalid on December 15 on the complaint of the defaulter. The decision was challenged by the EC in the High Court, and Abdus Salam, which the Chamber Court maintained, also upheld the candidacy.
