Ramganj Upazila Awami League Joint General Secretary of Laxmipur Rakibul Hasan Masud has been sent to court after seeing the arrest of the case filed under the Anti-Terrorism Act.
On Tuesday (January 28) at noon, Ramganj police took him to the Laxmipur court. Awami League leader Masud is the son of the deceased freedom fighter M. Com Master Rafiqul Islam of Fatehpur village of Fatehpur village of Upazila No. 5 of Chandipur Union.
Officer-in-Charge (OC) of the police station Md Abul Bashar confirmed the matter, he said, after seeing the case filed against Awami League leader Rakibul Hasan Masud under the Anti-Terrorism Act, the court judge ordered them to be sent to jail.
According to the police, the arrested Awami League leader was planning to create mass unrest in the interest of the interim government after the fall of the government through the anti-discrimination student movement before and after August 5. Based on secret information, the operation was conducted on Monday at 4 pm in Fatehpur Bazar.
