Earlier, BNP leader Mazharul Islam was arrested from Algi Bazar, Haimchar police station OC Md. Ashraf Uddin said that Shafiq made a post on his own Facebook account with offensive comments to Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina.

The OC said, if the allegations are confirmed, the case will be filed against him. He will be handed over to the court after seeing the arrest of the case on Tuesday.
Upazila Awami League General Secretary Noor Hossain Patowari said that Upazila BNP General Secretary Mazharul Islam is going to spread false propaganda by insulting Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina and Awami League from his Facebook ID named ‘Mazharul Islam Shafiq’. They made a verbal complaint to the police.
