Banauja Sher-e Bangla, the country's largest naval base, was inaugurated in Patukhali's Kalapas.
Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina commissioned 4 petrol craft and 4 LCUs of this base with seafarer training and aviation facilities.
Today, Wednesday (July 12), Navy Chief Admiral M Shaheen Iqbal handed over the commissioning order to Commodore M Mohabbat Ali, Commander of the Navy with the permission of the Prime Minister through video conference and unveiled the official name plaque.
The maritime security and protection of the coastal areas including the Patrara port in the southern part of the country will play an important role in the training of the naval personnel in addition to the increase in the capacity of the naval base. Unveiled.
