A modern fitness club and public library duo has been developed by the upazila administration in Raipur, Laxmipur, and the new project was inaugurated by Deputy Commissioner Rajeev Kumar Sarkar on Monday (April 7) at noon and is considered a revolutionary step in the physical and mental development of the young generation.
In the opening ceremony, DC Rajeev Kumar Sarkar said, “We want young people to find knowledge in the pages of books and make their bodies strong in fitness clubs. This will be the foundation of our future Bangladesh.”
He highlighted the practical aspects of fitness clubs rich in modern equipment and termed the establishment of library and fitness club in the same building as an “unprecedented” initiative in Bangladesh.
Raipur Press Club general secretary MR Suman said, “It is not just a fitness club, it is a center for overall development for our youth. Knowledge and health protection—the combination of the two has been made possible here.”
The Deputy Commissioner said that this initiative has been taken so that the local people get the opportunity of knowledge and physical fitness easily.
After the inauguration, he visited the land office, union council and various educational institutions of Keroa Union, which has increased the trust of the local people in the administration.
The library and fitness club in Raipur are now not only a sign of infrastructural development, but it is the beginning of a social movement of mind and body, which is expected to become a model for other regions of the country in the future.
