1 and 5 people were seriously injured in the train-privateka collision in Narsingdi and the accident took place at Ghoshal railway crossing area of Palash upazila of Narsingdi district on Friday (March 11).
The deceased Md. Yusu Ali (30) is a resident of Dulalpur Unitner Dattergao area of Shibpur Upazila and the injured are said to be residents of the same area.
Police and locals in the railway said that the Chittagong-bound Turna-Nishita Express train from Dhaka at around 1 pm on Friday night at Ghoshal railway station station at Ghoshal railway station. A private car crossing the crossing on the east side of the station to cross the station, when the train hit the private car, the private car was knocked down by the side of the railway line.
One person died on the spot and five seriously injured, the railway authorities and locals with the help of the authorities and locals were rescued and sent to Narsingdi Sadar Hospital and the body of the deceased was recovered.
In the Narsingdi Railway, Imadedul Jahedi, in-charge of the police department, said that there was a foreign passenger in the private car, everyone from Dattatergao in Shivpur was at Ghoshal railway crossing. The body of the deceased was recovered and sent to Narsingdi Sadar Hospital morgue.
