Gaibandha has been distributed checks for financial support for patients with cancer, kidney, liver cirrhosis, stroke, congenital heart disease and thalassemia patients.
On Monday (April 11) morning, the District Commissioner inaugurated this check distribution program as the chief guest in the conference room of the District Commissioner in Gaibandha District Social Service Office. Oliur Rahman was presided over by Deputy Director of Gaibandha District Social Service Office Md. Fazlul Haque.
Md. Fazlul Haque, Deputy Director of Gaibandha District Social Services Office, said that through the District Social Services Department under the Department of Social Services, this check will be distributed to each of the 322 patients of the seven upazilas of the district as a medical service for cancer, kidney, liver cirrhosis, stroke, and this check of Tk 1 crore 61 lakh will be distributed to each of the seven upazilas of the district.
The concerned upazila social service officials will distribute this money and the poor, the poor and the helpless can get medical services for these incurable diseases. Kamrul Hasan Sarkar and Social Service Officer (Reg.) Md. Mizanur Rahman Mallik and others.
According to the sources, the Department of Social Services started this check distribution program from 2013-14 financial year to cancer, kidney, liver cirrhosis, paralyzed, congenital heart disease and thalassemia patients as an aid in returning a healthy and normal life.
After receiving the financial support check, some patients said that they are unable to get treatment due to lack of money.
Many are in debt and now they are able to treat this money and they are satisfied that they have benefited a lot.
