On July 30, the Appellate Division extended the appeal from July 31 to October 31 to settle the appeal.
The High Court granted bail to Khaleda Ji for four months on March 12 after appealing against the five-year sentence in this case. After the appeal of the ACC and the state side, it was upheld on May 16 and ordered the appeal to be settled by July 31. court
The appeal hearing started on July 12.
Among the six accused, three accused including Khaleda Geeta are absconding. Khaleda Geeta Chasa is the other two - former Member of Parliament (MP) of Magura Kazi Salimul Haque Kamal aka Kamal and businessman Sharfuddin Ahmed.
The three fugitives are BNP acting chairperson Tarek Rahman, former chief secretary Dr. Kamal Uddin Siddiqui and BNP founder Gitaur Rahman's nephew Mominur Rahman.

On February 22, the court called for the hearing of Khaleda Gita's appeal and suspending the fine, and on March 7, the High Court accepted the appeal of the other accused, former MP Kazi Salimul Haque Kamal, for hearing.
Later on March 28, the High Court ruled on the ACC's plea to increase Khaleda's sentence and on May 10, another accused Sharfuddin's appeal was accepted by the court for hearing.
