Mohanpur Thana police seized 95 bags of wheat in Rajshahi Central Jail, and two people were arrested along with the truck driver from Kesharhat Bazar in Mohanpur Upazila of Rajshahi on Saturday afternoon.
The arrested are Hasem Ali (45), a truck driver of Chandar Aja village of Bagmara upazila and Nazrul Islam (50), a wheat trader of Kesharhat in Mohanpur upazila.
Mohanpur police station OC Salim Badsha said, based on the information that the wheat of the prison is being sold in the ghus, a police team seized the wheat and went to the police station and two people were arrested and two people were arrested.
The OC said that the detained businessman Nazrul Islam claimed that he had bought the wheat from the prison, a businessman from a Rajshahi named Humatan Ali, but there is no government seal in the wheat bag.
The OC also said that we have contacted the prison authorities in this poison, they know that they have sold bad wheat and bought good wheat. As part of this, they have sold the wheat to buy goods and other organizations do the same, according to the prison authorities.
OC Badshah also said that the wheat documents are being verified and they will be handed over to the business if the thickness is in place and the case will be filed if the smuggling, the OC said.
Nizam Uddin of Rajshahi Central Jail District said, "We have about 400 prison guards here. Among them, about 200 families live alone. They sell silk wheat and sell those wheat to another businessman in Kesharhat. If the quality of wheat is bad, the prisoners sell the wheat and the prisoners are not allowed to sell the wheat outside the prison.
