A special discussion meeting was held yesterday evening at Kamalnagar in Kamalnagar, Lakshmipur, in the midst of a very peaceful, fair and intensive security fence.
The meeting was held under the chairmanship of Kamalnagar Police Station Officer-in-Charge (OC) Faridul Alam, the president and general secretaries of each puja mandap in the upazila, and the leaders of various political and social organizations participated in the event that this religious festival, the head of traditional religions, can be completed in a universal joyous atmosphere.
Upazila BNP President Nurul Huda Chowdhury, Upazila Jamaat-e-Islami Secretary General Akram Hossain, Kamalnagar Press Club President Yusuf Ali Mithu, General Secretary Fatz Mahmud, Vice President Jamal Uddin, Advocate Fakhrul Islam and Journalist Amjad Hossain Amu and other local political and social organizations were present.
The discussion meeting will be a detailed discussion on the overall security of the pavilions, maintaining the normal law and order situation, installing CCTV cameras, keeping adequate volunteers and strengthening police patrols in any unpleasant incident.
Faridul Alam, OC of Kamalnagar police station, said, “Durga Puja is ready to ensure overall security. We are hopeful that the festival will be celebrated in an atmosphere of communal harmony along with special security arrangements in each mandap.”
The various political and social leaders present in the meeting also assured all kinds of cooperation in the celebration of the puja and urged the law enforcement agencies not to listen to any rumours.
