In Laxmipur Kamalnagar, a check of assistance cows and financial donations has been given to the poor and poor people in the river. On this occasion, a discussion meeting was held at the upazila grounds of Kamalnagar Upazila Social Service Office on Tuesday (December 6).
Laxmipur Deputy Commissioner Anwar Hossain Akand spoke as the chief guest under the chairmanship of Upazila Nirbahi Officer Md. Kamruzzaman.
He said that Bangabandhu's daughter Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina has been providing cows and financial donations to the financially needy people including widows, elderly, disabled people to build a country free from hunger and poverty. In this continuation, 5000 taka financial donation was given to 70 poor people through Kamalnagar Upazila Social Service Office.
The Prime Minister has taken this step to improve the quality of life of the poor at the grassroots level and called for transparency and accountability in the distribution of cash to help the poor people in medical services.
Upazila Assistant Land Officer Pushpa Pudam Chakma, District Social Service Officer Nurul Islam, Upazila Social Service Officer Masud Alam, Upazila Vice Chairman Omar Farooq Sagar, Kamalnagar Thana Officer-in-Charge (Investigation) Makhan Chandra Lal were present as special guests on the occasion.
