The bi-annual 2025-26 Executive Council elections of the Brahmanbaji Nabinagar Press Club were held in a free, fair and impartial manner in a festive atmosphere. Voting was held at the press club office from 10 am to 1 pm on Thursday, February 13.
Daily Jugantar Upazila Representative Mostak Ahmed Ujjal was elected as the president of Daily Swadhin Sangbad and publisher of weekly Malaya newspaper Mohammad Hossain Shanti, general secretary.
The other elected members are Asian TV and Country Transformation Representative Mohammad Zahirul Haque as Vice President, Kamrul Islam, the first dawn representative, was elected as the vice-president, the representative of Manabzamin and My TV, Shyama Prasad Chakraburti Shyamal, Mohana TV and Ajker newspaper representative Saidul Alam Sohrab.
Nabinagar Upazila Nirbahi Officer Rajeev Chowdhury announced the final result of the election at two in the afternoon.
Earlier, 5 members were elected unopposed.They are: Senior Vice President Tajul Islam (Dainik Dhaka) Finance Secretary Monirul Islam Babu (Prajabandhu), Office and Entertainment Secretary. Salim Reza (Dainik Janata), Information and Technology Editor SA Rubel (Sarod), Literary and Cultural Editor Shafiqul Islam (Dainik Frontier).
The newly-elected president and general secretary expressed their determination to work for the quality of mainstream journalism unitedly and sought the cooperation of all.
