Devoted Muslims will observe the holy Shabbat Meraj on the night of worship on Monday (January 27) night, praying for the mercy of Almighty Allah Rabbul Alamin.
On the night of 26th Rajab of 620 AD, the Holy Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) went to the presence of Allah, so the night was very significant for Muslims.
From Masjid al-Aqsa to the seven heavens, the Arshe Azim journey is called ‘Meraj’. The Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) was particularly honored through Meraj.
On the night of Meraj, the last prophet of Islam met Almighty Allah Rabbul Alamin and brought the rules of five times prayer.
On this night, devout Muslims observe the day through prayer in mosques or at home, reciting the Qur'an, Zikir-Asgarar, and many people also observe Nafal fasting.
