March 26 to April 4 General Holidays Declared

The government has announced a general holiday from March 26 to April 4 to prevent coronavirus infections. Only police, hospitals and emergency services will be open.

The Cabinet Secretary Khandkar Anwarul announced this at an emergency briefing at the Bangladesh Secretariat on Monday.
Khandkar Ananotarul Islam said the government has declared a general holiday from March 29 to April 2. The holiday will be added to the holiday of March 26 and March 27-28 and Friday-Saturday on April 3 and 4. But hospitals and emergency services will remain open.

It has been informed that the army will cooperate with the field administration across the country to maintain social distance across the country until the next order.

The briefing was also attended by the Senior Secretary of the Ministry of Disaster Management and Relief, Senior Secretary of Public Security Department, Secretary of Health Care Department, Information Secretary, Principal Staff Officer, Chief Information Officer (PIO).
