4 fishermen are sentenced to fishing in Meghna river

Own Correspondent: The Executive Magistrate has sentenced 4 fishermen to 15 days imprisonment for fishing in the Meghna river in Kamalnagar of Lakshmipur.
On Tuesday (March 17) night, they were arrested from the river and caught 4 people with boats, nets and fish.
The arrested are Bablu (25) father. Deceased Abul Kalam, Md. Nizam (19) Father. Mo Jahangir, Md. Tarek (18) father. Mo Jahangir, Md. Sharif Hossain (18) father. Deceased Moizul Islam, Sarvasang Char Kalkini.
Upazila Fisheries Officer Abdul Quddus said that the Meghna river has been banned for two months in March-April two months, and the campaign is to protect the hilsa.
In violation of the ban, they were arrested and sentenced by Coast Guard and Executive Magistrate raids to fish in the river.
