Laxmipur: 50 illegally taken up buildings by occupying the canal in Lakshmipur and evicting the houses were carried out on Monday (December 23) at noon in the Joksin market of Sadar Upazila.
The operation was conducted under the leadership of Additional District Magistrate Shahidul Islam of the District Commissioner's Office, which was conducted by Executive Magistrate Rumon Dey, Assistant Commissioner (Land) Mamunur Rashid and Executive Engineer of Pani Unanon Board, Farooq Ahmed.
Additional District Magistrate Shahidul Islam said, "Imaged for illegal constructions and instructions for taking place, but the occupiers have not been able to do the buildings. This is why the illegal establishments are being carried out in bulldozers."
