In the case of breeding, hilsa protection program is implemented for the purpose of catching, selling, transportation and stocking of hilsa for the purpose of breeding, so fishermen are prohibited from taking it. The government is giving rice at the rate of 20 kg as food support (VGF) to the river. The river is the only source of livelihood for fishermen. The fishermen are suffering from half-starvation due to not being able to catch fish. The program is over, the fishermen's families have not even got a handful of rice. The fishermen said that if the campaign is not fishing in the river, we will not get any rice or help. We are still in a hard time.
Upazila Fisheries Office has submitted the list of No. 1 Charkalkini and No. 3 Charlerance Unit No. 3 among 9 Units. 7th Hajir Hat, No. 5 Char Fallon, No. 6 Patawtair Hat Unity Chairman said we have not yet prepared the list.
