Khulna: Referring to one of the commitments of the family card government's election manifesto, Social Welfare and Women and Child Affairs Minister Professor Dr. AZM Zahid Hossain said that everyone concerned should be more diligent and proactive to bring the benefits of social security programs to the doorsteps of people.
He said, as people's expectations are being raised, new problems and discriminations are being created in the society as well. Considering these realities, social welfare activities should be made more effective and people-friendly.
He said these things at the opening ceremony of the Khulna Division Seminar titled ‘Information of activities under the Ministry of Social Welfare’ organized at Khulna CSS Ava Center on Sunday morning from the office of Bangladesh Secretariat.
The minister said that people have high expectations for the Ministry of Social Welfare. Many people think that any problem can be solved by going to the social welfare department but all the problems cannot be solved by the Ministry of Social Welfare.
He added that the family card is one of the promises of the government's election manifesto. The training of this program will start today. It will be implemented in upazila, united and field level, and the effective supervision of the officials concerned is very important in this regard.
He urged the concerned to be more aware and enterprised in the poison of the government in various social security programs and unexpected situations.
The minister said that the more modern and advanced people are, the more new problems and discrimination are being created in the society.
Mentioning that the government is working on the poison of manpower, addition of machinery and promotion, he said, there has been visible progress in some cases, but in many other cases there is a visible change.
He said today's engagement is being held as a free, friendly and inter-critical discussion with the secretaries and the concerned, he expressed hope that it will be possible to improve the quality of social welfare services.
Secretary of the Ministry of Social Welfare was present as the chief guest in the seminar. Mohammad Abu Yusuf, Director of the Department of Social Services, Anindita Ra, presented the keynote at the seminar chaired by Director (Institution) of the Directorate of Social Services Moha. Kamruzzaman.
Deputy Director, Assistant Director, District Social Service Officer, Upazila Social Service Officer and officials of the concerned departments participated in the seminar.
