1967 candidates of various political parties including BNP, Jamaat-e-Islami, Jati Nagrik Party (NCP) have been held in the field in the 13th National Assembly elections. 305 candidates have withdrawn from the election on Tuesday. On the last day of withdrawal of candidature, 305 candidates have been removed from the election on Tuesday. Several of the BNP rebel candidates have filed their nomination papers as independents but have gone from the polls till the end.
In support of the candidates of the 10-party alliance, the candidates of the partner parties have withdrawn their candidature. However, the candidates of Islami Andolan Bangladesh have been in the field. The party activities have been suspended.
The names and symbols of those who have now entered the field in 298 seats of the National Parliament will be on the ballot paper. The concerned returning officers will allocate symbols to the final candidates today, and then the election campaign will begin.
On February 12, 13th National Assembly elections will be held in 300 seats in the parliamentary elections. Voters will be able to vote in the national election and pink ballot paper in the referendum on a white-and-white ballot paper, according to EC sources.
According to the Election Commission Secretariat's Deota, 3422 people collected the nomination papers to participate in the 13th National Assembly elections. 2585 people filed nomination papers. The nomination papers were canceled by 726 people.
