Irfan Ullah, EB representative: The students of Islami University (EB) have formed a human chain to demand maximum punishment for the rape of a 7-year-old child in Magura and the security of women, while the speakers warned of a strict agitation if the rapists are not punished maximum.
On Saturday (March 8) at 4:15 pm, the human chain was held under the banner of anti-discrimination student movement in the administration building premises of the university.
At this time, the students appeared with various placards including ‘Rape the trial should be sentenced to death’, ‘I want the execution of the rape accused in Magura’, ‘I want the implementation of the law not assurance’, ‘I am not neglected’.
Students said a little child was raped in Magura Which is a shame for us, and the criminals get away with the rape cases due to lack of justice. Exemplary punishment will reduce the amount of rape in the country, we demand the government to ensure exemplary punishment of child rapists in Magura and ensure safety of women's lives in the country.
University coordinator SM Suite said women were in the first row in the July movement. Women are always ahead in any just movement, but women are the most insecure in our society today. If women are not ensured in the country and society, the country will not be prosperous. If the rapists were given proper punishment, there would be no rape, if the current government does not take appropriate action for other wrongdoings including rape, students will be forced to take to the field.
