In the house of Rashtpur upazila, there was a lot of robbery and fire in the house of a Saudi expatriate.
The incident took place on Monday around 3:00 p.m., at Ababil Union No. 9, South Char Ababil, Ratpur Upazila, in Anamita Haji Bai, No. 1, and the family members of the victim said that the Saudi expatriate's wife and father-in-law were in Lakshmipur city that day.
The locals said that the fire was soon rushed to the spot and brought the fire out, but by then it is believed that the loss of approximately 6 lakh rupees was due.
On receiving the news of the incident, local UP Checherman Howladar Noor Alam Ziku and Hadarganj Faani Police Station In-charge SI Abul Kalam Azad visited the spot. Residents believe that this incident may have happened due to a land dispute with the expatriate's family.
The police have already started investigation and have assured to identify the culprits and bring them under the law.
