Students of seven colleges affiliated to Dhaka University (DU) have blocked the SATSlab and Technical Mouse of the capital on the five-point demand, which has stopped two important traffic.
On Sunday (January 26) around 6 pm, the students staged a blockade.
Due to the blockade, these two important areas have been closed, while at the same time, the surrounding areas including the Scetslab, Neelkhet Moj and Elephant Road and the technical mounds and surrounding areas are closed. The area has been severely trafficked.
The students said that DU's Pro-VC (Education) is going to discuss 5-point demands including reducing the admission seats of seven colleges. And some teachers immediately insulted more than half a hundred students of seven colleges and blocked the reaction.
Their demands are:
1. From the 2024-25 session, the admission test of seven colleges should be canceled.
2. Students cannot be admitted beyond the capacity of the classrooms of seven colleges.
3. Teacher -Student ratio should be taken into consideration and the student should be admitted.
4. Admission test marks of seven colleges should be added.
5. To ensure the transparency of the admission fee of seven colleges, the admission fee money should be deposited in a new account in DU Chaja in combination with the expert committee formed by the ministry.
