Three robbers surrendered three hours after the robbery at Rupali Bank's Jinjira branch in Keraniganj, Dhaka, a RAB official who was present at the scene told reporters that they were evacuated in a microbus guarding the police and RAB members.
He said that the officials and customers trapped inside the bank are now healthy.
The RAB official said, ‘Three robbers aged 20 to 30 have got their three firearms in our car. They have responded to the call for the surrender of the army, RAB and police.’
He also said that there were no casualties and the bank authorities will assess the damage.
Earlier, around 2 pm, a group of armed robbers entered Rupali Bank and tried to rob and later locked the bank officials and customers inside.
The RAB official said that the three robbers entered the bank, while the rest were staying outside.
