On November 04, 2024, on the case of expiring, underprivileged, low-quality, illegally marketed bakery goods and artificial colors on Kalibazar Road of Laxmipur Municipality, the Food Safety Act 2013, Consumer Rights Protection Act 2009 and Environment Pollution Act 2010 have been fined a total of Tk 1,00,500.
Bangladesh Safe Food Authority, Laxmipur District Office Safe Food Officer Mr. Sumadhu Chakraborty said that the monitoring will be conducted on Monday afternoon based on the secret information of low-quality bakery goods and artificial colors wholesale and retail against M/s Shahed & Brothers.
The monitoring team was attended by Mr. Abdullah Al Hill Hakim, Inspector of Safe Food Inspector of Laxmipur Municipality and Mr. Tajul Islam, Safe Food Inspector of Sadar Upazila, which was stocked for sale of a large amount of expired artificial colors, low-quality bakery products and illegal food products for the purpose of selling these low-quality unsafe colors and food materials used in various bakerys in Laxmipur.
In this situation, the mobile court of District Administration, Assistant Commissioner and learned Executive Magistrate of Laxmipur, Mr. Mojibur Rahman, fined the said food establishment in the safe Foods Act 2013, Consumer Rights Protection Act 2007, Environment Pollution Act 2007, a total of Tk 1,00,5000. Owner Mr. Shahed Alam has to be instructed to conduct food business in accordance with the Safe Food Act.
