Three people died in Rangamati on Thursday in Rangamati, two from Pekuta, Comilla, four in Sylhet, one in Kanighat of Sylhet and one school student in Khagjat Matiranga died on Thursday.
Rangamati:
Three people have died in two upazilas of Rangamati due to lightning. On the other hand, Baghaichhi upazila executive officer Shirin Akhter said that a total of two people died in Baghaichhi upazila due to lightning today. The upazila administration has given financial support of 10 thousand taka to each family.
Cox's Bazar:
Two salt workers, including a teenager, died in the Pekut lightning of Cox's Bazar, and the accident took place in the morning at the salt ground in the area of Magnama and Rajakhali Uniton areas of the upazila.
The deceased Didarul Islam (30) is the son of Zamir Uddin of Kolailladita area of Magnama Uni, while the other deceased Arafat Hossain (14) is the son of Jamal Hossain of Charipaza area of Rajakhali Unit of Upazila.
Zaker Hossain, uncle of the deceased Didar, said that around four in the morning, when the sky was clouded, I also went to the field to collect salt, and Didarul Islam died on the spot when lightning struck with the rain.
Magnama Union Parishad (UP) panel chairman Badiul Alam said, Didar used to work in the salt field of Abul Kalam next to me. Rahman (47), Atiqul Islam (50) of North Suryanagar village of Golitar Unit of Sadar Dakshin Upazila, Mokhleshur Rahman (58) of Dhamati village of Comilla Debidwar upazila and Quddus Mitar Alam Hossain of Pachora village of Rajapur Unit of Buichang upazila.
The poison has been confirmed by the OC of the concerned police station and the local sources.

A farmer has died due to lightning at Kanighat in Sylhet. The accident took place in Shafiq Howar of Dighirpa East Union of Kanighat Upazila.
The dead farmer's name is Babul Ahmad (48). He is the son of deceased Abdus Salam of Mati area of Dakshin Qutra of the upazila.
Locals said that Babul went to Haor to harvest paddy in the afternoon, and two others including his nephew Fahim Ahmad and Pradeep Biswas were with him and were seriously injured when the locals rescued them and the doctors declared Babul dead.
Officer-in-Charge (OC) of Kanighat Police Station Jahangir Hossain Sardar confirmed the poison and said that Babul Ahmed's body has been handed over to the family due to lightning.
