Maulana Mamunul Haque, Joint Secretary General of the Demanded Central Committee of Hefazat Islam and General Secretary of Dhaka Metropolitan, was released after three years of imprisonment.
Today Friday (May 3) around 11 o'clock, his relatives and fans welcomed him with flowers when he came out of Kashimpur High Security Jail.
Kashimpur High Security Jail Senior Jail Superintendent Subrata Kumar Bala confirmed the release of Maulana Mamunul Haque on bail, he said, 37 cases have been filed against Mamunul Haque.
Earlier on Thursday (May 2) Maulana Mamunul Haque was released on Thursday night but was not released at the last moment. At that time Jail Superintendent of Kashimpur Jail Subrata Kumar Bala knew that it will not be possible to release Mamunul Haque today. His bail documents are being scrutinized.
It is known that after the release today, he waited in the waiting room.
It is to be noted that on April 3, 2021, the local Aotami League leaders and activists blocked Hefazat leader Maulana Mamunul Haque with a woman at Rattle Resort in Sonargaon, Naratanganj. The police interrogated them at the spot and the police arrested Maulana Mamunul Haque from a madrasa in Mohammadpur on April 18 of that year.
