The Persian word ‘Shab’ means night and Arabic ‘Meraj’ means ascending, and so ‘Shab’ means the night of the journey. According to the religious belief of Muslims, the Holy Prophet Hazrat Muhammad (PBUH) travels in the sky at night 26th of Rajab. Allah had met Allah Ta'ala, this year it was the night of February 8.
In the midst of this meraj, prayer is made obligatory for Muslims. On this night, the Holy Prophet came to pray 5 times a day.
Meraj is proven through the unconventional evidence of the Ummah in the Qur'an-Hadith and Ijma. There is no doubt that the Muslim has no doubt about the importance and virtue of this night. Despite being present in the Sahabah Keram for many years, he did not give any special order regarding any practice centered on Shabbat Meraj, and the Prophet himself did not do special deeds.
Rasul Sa. After this tirodhan, Keram was alive in the Sahaba for about 100 years. They have also celebrated 27 Rajabs in a special way, which is not a case of the act of doing so. He did not do that, he also avoided Keram in the Sahaba. So it is not advisable to consider an act as a part of religion in 27 Rajab, to establish it as a Sunnah, and it is not Sunnah. This is called Bed'at.
Many people are seen gathering in the mosque for special prayers on the occasion of Shabbat Meraj. Many women also want to know what the method of praying that night is, many Muslims want to fast or want to fast on Meraj on this occasion. Many consider Shaba Meraj prayer or fasting to be particularly virtuous.
It is a virtue to perform Nafal Namaz and fasting, but there is no provision of special prayer and fasting on the occasion of Shabbat Meraj, in this regard, Allama Ibn Rajab Hanbali. Latayef and Ma'aref said in the book that there is no special prayer related to the month of Rajab, the hadiths narrated in the first Friday of the month of Rajab about the ragaib of Salat. They are baseless, false and fabricated.
According to the scholars, the prayer on the occasion of Shab Meraj is Bid'ah. Among the scholars of the later era, among the scholars, Abu Ismail Ansari, Abu Bakr Samani, Abul Fazl Ibn Nasir and Abul Faraz Ibn Jawzi (RA) among others.
The scholars of the previous era did not shed light on this because this bid'ah was revealed after the fourth century of the Prophet. And there is no pure hadith narrated from the Companions about the fasting of the month of Rajab.
Allah Ta'ala says in the Qur'an about the purpose of Meraj لِنُرِيَهُ مِنْ آيَاتِنَا (Miraj took place) to show him my signs. (Surah Bani Israel-1) The Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) saw numerous signs in this night. The father of the human race, Adam. Who saw it was the soul of the martyrs (Jannats) on his right side and the soul of the hellish on the left.
Shab Meraj is a Quranic great truth in the history of Islam, the unique glory and excellence of the Prophet's life. Its special act, fasting or worship is not defined in the Shari'at. The believers can perform any worship and do good deeds according to their choice.
Rasul Sa. He saw heaven and hell in the night. The guard of hell saw Malek the angel, and he saluted me first as he looked back at him (Bukhari3182, Muslim 251).
