Rajshahi Reporter: In Rajshahi RAB has arrested seven people in the same way that they were arrested in two separate locations in Rajshahi from Sunday afternoon till night.
These extortionists were extorting money from the vehicles running in the barricades of various giants in Rajshahi. Four people from the truck terminal adjacent to Rajshahi bypass and three more extortionists from the Rajshahi-Dhaka Mahasak in the city's outer Katkhali were arrested.
This information was informed in a press release of RAB 5 on Monday morning.
The arrested are Akhtaruzzaman Helen (49), Abdur Razzak (47), Abdul Quddush (55) and Md. Mintu (36). The arrested Akhtaruzzaman Helen Kashitadanga police station is the son of Asaduzzaman of Hajipur village.
On the other hand, Ashraful Islam (32), Manik Ali (38) and Durul Hoda (38) were arrested red-handed in Katakhali area of the city on Sunday night. Among those arrested, the main host Ashraful Islam is the son of Mahbub Alam of Belpukur area, among others, the son of Jaffar Mandal and Durul Hoda Amaz Uddin Mandal of Manik Namazgram area.
During the operation, 6 thousand 800 taka of sticks, receipts, vouchers, tokens and extortion of 6 thousand 800 taka were seized from the vehicles.
It is said in the complaint that these organized extortion sticks were being used to stop the drivers of various types of passenger buses including passenger buses, goods trucks, Laguna, human haulers and the huge amount of money.
