twelfth Independent candidate Selina Islam MP has allocated symbols after returning from the High Court for the post of Member of Parliament in Lakshmipur-2 (Rathapur and Sadar Ekang) constituency in the national parliamentary elections.
On Friday (December 22) around 3 pm, District Returning Officer and District Commissioner Suraita Jahan allotted her the eagle symbol. She is a member of Selina Islam Reserved Women Constituency (349) and is the wife of former MP Kazi Shahid Islam Papul and Member of Parliament for Reserved Women Constituency. Earlier on Sunday (December 17) afternoon, the High Court granted this appeal to return the validity of the nomination paper.
After hearing the appeal in the High Court at around 3 o'clock in the afternoon, Justice Iqbal Mahmud and Md. Saiful Islam gave this statement.Selina Islam submitted her nomination as an independent candidate for Laxmipur-2 seat. Concealing information of a case in the ACC, the Laxmipur District Returning Officer announced the cancellation of her nomination paper on December 3. After an appeal to the Election Commission on December 11, she did not get her candidature back in the high court.
Selina Islam told the media that our political journey is a constant companion by dealing with various domestic and foreign instruments. For now, trusting Rabbul Alamin, the next 12th national election is hopeful of winning the election with a huge margin.
However, in Lakshmipur-2 seat, 10 other contestants including Aomi League supported boat marker candidate Advocate Noor Uddin Chowdhury Naton joined him.
Among them, Naon and Selina Islam Chao boat marker candidate Noor Uddin Naton's wife has been named Chowdhury Rubina Itasmin Lubna as an independent.
The other candidates are Borhan Uddin Ahmed Mithu of Jati Party, Abdullah Al Masud of Trinamool BNP, Bangladesh Supreme Part of Zahir Hossain, Amir Hossain of Jati Samajtantrik Dal (JSD), Imam Uddin Sumon of Muktijot, Mansur Rahman Dadan Gazi of Bangladesh Congress, Morshed Alam of Islamic Front Bangladesh and Shariful Islam of Bangladesh Islami Front and Farhad Misha are candidates.
