The Cabinet has approved the new law to establish a science and technology university in Lakshmipur district.
Today Monday (June 19) in the Cabinet meeting chaired by Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina at the Prime Minister's Office, the Khasar of Laxmipur University of Science and Technology Act, 2023 will be approved.
After the meeting, the Cabinet Secretary Md. Mahbub Hossain informed the reporters that he said, like other public universities, the activities of this university will be conducted.
Earlier, on January 27, 2020, the cabinet gave in-principle approval to the draft of an act to establish this university.
After the meeting, the then Cabinet Secretary Khandkar Anwarul Islam said that the Cabinet has given in-principle approval to the draft of the Laxmipur Science and Technology University Act-2020 in view of the Prime Minister's consent.
“The draft of the law from the Department of Secondary and Higher Education will be presented in the Cabinet. Later today the Cabinet has given in-principle approval to the Act. The Act has 55 clauses.”
