Jagannath University (JUB) Journalist Association Elections-2023 Elections have been held. In this, Mahmudul Hasan Tanveer, JB representative of Daily Kalbela newspaper and Mamun Sheikh of Daily Janakantha has been elected as General Secretary. Mahmudul Hasan University's 12th batch of Mass Communication and Journalism Department and Md. Mamun Sheikh is a student of philosophy department of 13th batch.
Chief Election Commissioner Solaiman Salman announced the election results at 4 pm on Monday, while Election Commissioner Mahbub Mamtaji and Jubair Hussain Sami were present.
Earlier today at 11 am, the polling started at 11 am in the office of the Journalists Association, the polling will continue till 2 pm. Against the total 9 posts, 20 candidates contested the election.
Other posts in the executive council are vice-president Sagar Hossain (The Daily Campus), Joint General Secretary Rauthan Ahmed (Jago News), Treasurer Jatnul Haque (Human Land), Office and Publication Secretary Imran Hussain (Daily Samakal).
Mahatab Limon (Dhaka Post), Taufiqur Rahman (Dainik Azkal Khabar) has been elected as Executive Member-1 of the new Executive Council.
