Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina has informed that the proposal raised by the US Congressmen for the international recognition of the genocide organized in the Great War of Liberation has been placed in the Foreign Affairs Committee of the House of Representatives.
He said that Bangladesh is making diplomatic efforts to ensure that the proposal is considered.
Today Wednesday (January 25) member of Awami League in the National Parliament A.K. M. The Prime Minister said these things in a written answer to a question of Rahmatullah.
Speaker Dr. Shirin Sharmin Chowdhury presided over the question and answer session scheduled for the Prime Minister.
Commenting that the atrocities organized in the liberation war have gone awry, Sheikh Hasina said, "We gained freedom in exchange for the sacrifice of more than 300,000 people and the honor of millions of mothers and sisters in the bloody liberation war of 9 months. During the war, the brutality of the Pakistani invader forces and their countrymen in the war has exceeded the brutality organized by the Pakistani forces and their countrymen in any other war in the world."
The persecution of the Pakistani invaders has beaten all the dark chapters of history, including the Nazi brutality of the Second World War. In the history of the post-World War II, there is not a single picture of the killing, torture and rape of such a large number of people, we have been making strong protests on the international stage against any of the world's organized genocides, remembering this history.
After that, the Prime Minister said that since the formation of the government, we have made various steps at the diplomatic level to achieve the international recognition of the genocide.
