Two botal fish were sold in Charbhadrasan Sadar Bazar of Faridpur on Friday morning and weighed 30 thousand taka and 24 kg.
In the morning, there was a crowd of buyers as well as eager people to see these two fish.
A local fish trader Ripon Mandal bought this fish from two fishermen for 28 thousand taka and then sold it.
Ripon said, I bought 13 kg of 13 kg botal fish caught in Chatna Dotri from a fisherman of 15 thousand taka and 11 kg from a fisherman of 11 kg of Botal Upazila. He made a profit of 2000 taka by selling 13 thousand taka.
Upazila Fisheries Officer SM Mahmudul Hasan said, "It is a good news for us to catch different species of fish in the net of fishermen in the Padma river. This is a good news for us. In order to bring about the breeding and life of the fish, the government has conducted raids in different rivers this year.
Now it is monsoon season, these fish are roaming in different places. Chatna duta (want) ditte Fisheries officials said that fishing is completely prohibited.
