The sixth census and house count-2022 was inaugurated in Char Rajibpur of Kuigram on June 15 (Wednesday) in Jaunitar Char village. The event was inaugurated by Char Rajibpur Upazila Parishad Chairman Akbar Hossain Hero.
The week-long census and house counting will end on June 21. The Bangladesh Bureau of Statistics (BBS) will implement the census and house counting activities.
This is the first time that the Census program is going to be conducted in a digital manner, with the preparation of an Oteb-based Integrated Sensus Management System (ICMS) and the Geographical Information System (GIS) has prepared a different level of control maps.
The instructions of Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman were conducted in 1974 and the first census and house count was conducted in 1974. This is the continuation of this 10 years in 1981, 1991, 2001 and 2011 respectively in the second, third and fifth census and house census.
Zonal Officer Md. Omar Farooq said, 176 counters will perform census and house calculation work in every part of the upazila and 30 supervisors will be identified.
