Information Minister Hasanul Haque Inu has said that online-based newspapers, TV channels and online radio are not in the Ministry of Statistics.
He said that online media policy is being made and this policy will be forced to come under the registration of online media and then it will be possible to make accurate statistics.
The Ministry of Information has so far applied for registration of 1925 online media outlets, 1732 online newspapers are under registration.
On Wednesday (February 8) afternoon, the Information Minister said this in response to a question raised on the table of Awami League Member of Parliament Nizam Uddin Hazari in the 14th session of the 10th National Parliament.
The information minister said that the Ministry of Online-based newspapers, TV channels and online radio is not currently in the Ministry of Statistics. The notification for registration of online media has been issued. So far 1,925 online newspapers, online TV and online radio have applied for registration. Out of which 1732 online newspapers, 159 online TV channels and 34 online radios have been published.
