A policeman was killed in an accident on his way back to the police station after arresting the accused in Rajnagar upazila of Moulvibazar.
The deceased policeman Sameeran Chandra Das's Bai Habiganj Sadar Upazila is in Panchpasi.
3 SIs, 2 constables and 3 accused of the police were seriously injured in this incident. The accident took place in the upazila's shop area on Saturday morning.
According to the police and locals, Rajnagar Thana police arrested 3 accused from Uttarbagh tea garden in the upazila.
They were returning to the police station in a pickup van they used to.
Essam came to a place called Matar shop in that area and the wheel of the house burst and hit a tree in Nitrana Harita.
4 SI 2 constables of the police and 3 arrested accused were seriously injured.
On the news, a team of Rajnagar Fatur Service rescued the injured and went to Moulvibazar 250 bed hospital.
The doctor on duty there declared police SI Samiran Chandra Das dead.
Later, 3 SIs, 1 constables and 1 accused of the seriously injured police were sent to Sylhet MAG Osmani Medical College Hospital.
And the other injured 1 constable and two arrested accused are being treated at Moulvibazar hospital.
On receiving the news of the incident, Moulvibazar Superintendent of Police Mohammad Zakari went to the hospital to see the injured, the injured were Rajnagar police station SI Suleiman, Shaukat Masud Bhui, Jahangir.
Constable (Gaee driver) Abdul Aziz and Masuk Mita.
The injured arrested are Kant Sawtal, Lakshan Sawtal and Kurmi Maina.
Officer-in-charge (OC) of Rajnagar police station Nazrul Islam said that after a special operation, 3 accused were arrested and an accident took place on the way back to Rajnagar police station. In this, one of our policemen was killed and 5 other policemen were injured.
He confirmed that the deceased policeman SI Sameeran Chandra Das's party is also Habiganj Sadar Upazila.
