Bhola: The mobile court sentenced 15 fishermen to prison and 10 fishermen for the crime of catching hilsa in violation of the ban.
On Thursday (October 15) from morning to evening, 25 people arrested in the operation will be sentenced.
Among the detainees, four people from Borhanuddin of the district, seven from Manpura, three from Bhola Sadar and 11 from Charfashan upazila.
Among them, 15 have been sentenced to one year in prison and 10 have been fined.
District Fisheries Officer. Azaharul Islam said that the protection of hilsa is the Meghna Tetuli of Bhola, from morning to evening, 14 patrol groups of the district.
25 fishermen were arrested in the operation, they were later sentenced to imprisonment of 15 people and fined 5000 rupees to 10 people through mobile court.
The government has issued a ban on hilsa catching 22 days from October 14 to November 4 during the main breeding season of hilsa.
